Located in Tetu, Nyeri County, the Njuriga Washing Station operates under the Njuriga Farmers’ Cooperative Society, established in 1999 and serving approximately 470 smallholder farmers under the leadership of Pauline Mumbi Karim. Upon arrival, cherries are received and carefully sorted by ripeness before undergoing prefermentation, pulping, and an aerobic fermentation lasting between 72 and 95 hours. The coffee is then thoroughly washed and dried outdoors, completing a meticulous process that preserves quality at every stage.
